Hunter's House

In 1797 the government placed Hunter's collections of writings and specimens into the care of the Royal College of Surgeons whose origins date back to 1540 when Henry VIII granted a Royal Charter to a new joint Company of Barber-Surgeons.

We were appointed by the Royal College of Surgeons to develop a website enabling visitors to learn about the history of the College, search the collection and explore Hunter's House - a microcosm of life in late 18th century London - using an original plan drawn by his faithful assistant, William Clift.

Note: This site is only currently available on the Royal College of Surgeon's intranet and is not, therefore, publicly accessible.
